Hummmmmmmus

"Hey...  I sucked all the hummus off this snap pea... can I get some more?"

Niko had his first taste of hummus last night.  I have been giving him snap peas to eat while I get his dinner ready - and to my surprise he likes them.  I have been eating them a lot lately with hummus so when he saw me dipping mine in to hummus, he naturally wanted some too.

I have been working on a bunch of stuff for Niko's birthday.  I have made a few hats and a few bibs - they are kinda big on him now, but he is only getting bigger.  I made a smaller bib that I will try on him tonight.

Unfortunately, my sewing machine died on me Tuesday night... I brought it in to be serviced (again) and I won't get it back for 2 weeks.  I'm going to borrow "Grandma O's" machine over the weekend so I can finish his jacket.

The next time my machine acts up I think I'm going to replace it.  My trusty Kenmore is almost 30 years old and I think it's just getting tired.  My mom gave me the machine about 5 years ago and this is it's third time I have had it repaired.  It's been plagued with bobbin problems recently.

Any suggestions on a new machine anyone?

Please let this be a hobby... not a career

Niko had fun playing with Aunt Shelly's drums the other night.  We are hoping this is not a career choice... he can't pick a more worthless career than his parents!  Go into the medical field Niko - not the arts!!!

I'm helping

We have joined 2006 and upgraded to a DVR cable box.  This way we can record Mickey Mouse Playhouse for someone....

Niko was super curious about the new box and wanted to "help" daddy install it.

Ethnic Fest

We went to Ethnic Fest on Sunday - it was pretty fun!  We sampled food from all over the world.  Niko liked the hamburger the best... like father like son.  (Neil's idea of exotic.)  :)

I can eat them all by myself - no need to cut them up.  I've got chompers for that!

Height chart

I have been looking for a height chart that I like.... but I haven't found one.  So... I made one.  

Blogger doesn't really support long, skinny images so this is what it looks like cut in half and side by side.

I'm going to have it printed on banner material then I will sew pockets on the top and bottom.  Once that is done, I can run a dow rod through the holes and hang it on the wall like a scroll.

I will post some photos of it when it's done!
