Primer is done

Ahhh.... both coats of primer are done. Next comes the color!

Next year we plan to replace the tub, tile, nasty carpet and maybe the vanity. Who puts carpet in a bathroom?!??!?

Fun with Godfather Mark

Mark and Shelly came over last night for dinner. Niko loves his Godfather Mark - but who wouldn't?!?

First haircut

Niko got his first haircut last night. It went about as well as I thought it would. He wouldn't sit in the chair by himself so I sat with him. We tried bribing him with a lolly-pop... it didn't really work.

Our friend Amber cut his hair... I had hoped that Niko would do well because he sees her all the time.. but no. Cry, fuss and wiggle.

Hey... that wasn't so bad... and I don't look like a girl anymore!

Sanded walls

I know it's not the most exciting picture... but I was SOOOO happy to be done sanding. This project is taking WAY longer than I had hoped. It really can't be done any faster because I can't work on the bathroom until Niko goes to bed. Neil is working evening shifts this week so I'm a warrior of 1.

Tonight is clean up and taping. Wednesday I can actually start to paint... well the prime coat at least (x2). I'm hoping to have the walls done by the end of the weekend. I will start on the small bathroom downstairs next.....

Looks like daddy

While we were at Elizabeth's wedding, Neil commented on how much Niko looks like him dressed up at the same age. Totally!!

Elizabeth and McCay

We went to Elizabeth and McCay's wedding on Sunday. Don't they make a beautiful couple?? Elizabeth and I worked together at the City of Kansas City, Mo. and I do freelance for her at H&R Block. Elizabeth sang at my wedding... I did not curse her with my singing for her wedding.

This is really the first time Niko was in dress clothes. He looked like a little man... with girl hair. Gotta get on that haircut thing...

It was pretty challenging trying to keep Niko entertained for the wedding. We failed and spent most of the wedding in the lobby. There were several toddlers in the lobby as well so we didn't feel too bad.
