Brookfield Zoo

One of the places I miss the most from Chicago is the Brookfield Zoo.   It's one of the best zoos around and we try to go every other year or so to see what's new.  They have had the butterfly area for a while, but Niko is finally old enough to appreciate it.

This photo is for my mom.  Not the prettiest of flowering plants, but this was defiantly a butterfly favorite.

 Niko pointing out a butterfly.

This statue is a life-sized replica of a walrus that used to live at the zoo.  HUGE.

Niko really liked the dolphin show.  My dad put the bleacher into this auditorium years ago.

The bug display was fun for Niko.  He liked finding all of the bugs and running around.
This photo is for Uncle Donnie.... he is not a fan of racoons.

Niko LOVED the goats in the Children's Zoo area.  No kidding, he groomed the goats for over 20 minutes... I was so glad they had benches!

This photo took a bit... Niko didn't want to cooperate.

One of Do-Da's faves.... the giraffes.
