Today was a BEAUTIFUL day to go to the zoo. You can't tell from the photo, but he is wearing his glow-in-the-dark skeleton onesie. He was very good at the zoo - he really likes his Baby Bjorn.

Niko is going to be a dinosaur for Halloween this year. He won't be actually tricker-treating this year because he can't eat the candy yet. We plan to go to the zoo tomorrow for "Boo at the Zoo". It looks like he's trying to swipe at you.... so cute!
Niko has started to laugh and play. He has been smiling and babbling for a couple of weeks, but now he gets all excited and squeals.
Niko has favorite places around the house. He loves his rocking chair - whenever he gets really fussy we take him for a ride in the glider. He calms down in a few minutes and if you keep rocking him, he's asleep in 10 minutes.
Niko loves his changing table. I think he likes it because he's up off the ground and closer to your face. I LOVE this changing table - it's waterproof, antibacterial and needs no covers. The best thing is that it cleans ups with a baby wipe - and it has high walls so he can't roll off as easily.
Niko is officially into 3 month clothes.... at 7 weeks. He's too long for his 0-3 month clothes. He has his 2 month checkup next week - I'm interested to see what his height/weight are now.
Niko has a new favorite toy - the bouncy seat. He doesn't like to be put down for too long, but he was in this for almost an hour. Maybe tomorrow we can go for an hour and a half . . .
Today was a case of the crabbies. At first I thought he was feeling under the weather, but now I think he was just Mr. Crabby Pants. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a bit better - I think he's bored looking around the house. Maybe we will go on a field trip tomorrow.

I love the top photo - it looks like he's cheering. Go Bears!
You knew it was just a matter of time before I dressed him up as a kitty cat.
Niko is scheduled for his first round of vaccines in 2 weeks. I must admit I am a bit concerned about the link between Autism and vaccines recently. I have my list of questions to ask before they stick him with anything.
It's interesting that Europe and Asia have very different schedules for vaccinations. They don't give some of the vaccinations until the children are 12 that we give at 18 months.
Any thoughts on this?
Today is Neil and I's two year wedding anniversary. Niko decided that since he couldn't buy us something, he would make us something. He made it all by himself - all over himself, the bed and Neil's pants. Yea... gross.Soooooo romantic.
This photo is from an earlier "arts and crafts" session that I captured on my camera phone.

Anyone that knows me knows that Halloween is my favorite time of year. And from the looks of it, Niko likes it too! Look at all those smiles when he's in his Halloween clothes. :)

As we head into week 6, Niko is displaying some new skills. He has started to babble quite a bit. It's soooo cute! I'm going to try tape it sometime this week. He has also started to interact with the toys that surround him. He's really becoming aware of his surroundings. Of course with all new developments, they come with a cost. He is pretty fussy right now. According to everything that I have read, this is common with the 6-8 week growth spirt. We just have to weather the storm.
Soooo cute. All except for that rash that is... I took Niko to the doctors on Friday for a weird rash that is all over his body. The doctor said that it's either an allergic reaction to a soap/lotion or eczema. Eczema is hereditary and it has had success traveling down the Morris side of my family. I'm hoping its not eczema and something that can be treated.
On the upside, Niko is now 10 pounds, 3 ounces.... what a chunker!
Too cute! Hopefully this is not a sign that he inherited Mommie's allergies.
Oh how I dread cutting Niko's fingernails - it really puts your nerves to the test. I got up the guts to cut them this morning while I was nursing him. Success!
Niko has officially graduated from a newborn to an infant today! He is now one month old! :)We went to Target today to get his one month photos taken. He did really well during the photo shoot, but there was a minor disaster after the session. Niko has the ability to poop up and out of the back of his diaper and he showed everyone at Target his talent. Yea.... not so cool. So I cleaned him and his car seat up as best as I could in the bathroom and got the heck out of there. Scrub-a-dub when we got home. Ahhh... the joys of motherhood.
Niko is finally getting to the point that he loves going for walks. For the first few weeks he would cry until he fell asleep, but now it's better. This week he's been awake for the whole walk - just checking things out.
