Cul-de-sac party

Sunday was our Cul-de-sac party. It's so nice living in a neighborhood that gets together for events. Most of our neighbors made it to our mustache party too. The weather was perfect and Niko liked playing with his new neighbor friends!

First movie!

We took Niko to his first movie in the theater on Sunday. He did a VERY good job at the theater... lunch after was another story.

Thanks to the Godparents (the soon to be O'Bacons) for helping us out at the movies! :)

Garage sales

I love you garage sale and Craigslist.

I picked up this toy bin storage shelf thingie for $5! A little soap and water and it was good as new. It looks great in the play room and Niko can now finally see all of his toys. I had them in the bigger bins, but the smaller toys fall to the bottom. He has been playing a lot with some of the older toys he couldn't see before.

Happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Daddy's Day, Neil! Neil and Niko caught a nap while I was mowing the lawn and doing trash duty. (Thank goodness Daddy's day is only once a year!)

More home improvements

I will be replacing the old 80's fans in the upstairs bedrooms over the next week. I did the one in Niko's room first. The fans are about as much fun to take down and install by yourself as you think they are, but someone has to be on Niko patrol so...

The new fans not only look nicer, but they put out a lot more air! They are also tighter to the ceiling so the room feels a bit bigger.

Slide time

We have had this slide since Niko's first birthday. I bought it for him on Craigslist and he LOVES it. We had it in the basement since we moved to the new house, but brought it upstairs for the party. I think it's going to say in his playroom for a while, he really likes it being upstairs where he can play on it whenever he wants to.

Sleepytime

We are lucky that Niko hasn't climbed out of the crib yet... but that day is quickly coming. He can climb out of pack-n-plays pretty easily now.

And yes. He does sleep with all that crap in the crib. Three blankets and three stuffed animals. (Babies)

Best friend Woody

I was going to hold off buying this insanely priced Woody doll until Niko's birthday. But.... Neil is a push-over - he couldn't take it anymore. I guess Niko had quite the meltdown yesterday morning over Toy Story. Niko tore out a magazine article about it and stared at it the whole drive to daycare with his "sad eyes." (Neil's quote.) So... Neil caved and we bought him the toy last night.

New phone!

A surprise for Niko showed up in yesterday's mail. An old phone from Do-Da! He played with it most of the evening. Thanks Do-Da!

Finger painting... and eating

We had been painting for a while and he actually figured this out on his own. He turned the foil upside-down to get more paint on the sheet. He's a genius!

Oh wait. Then he ate it.... never mind.

Do-Da and Grandpa come to visit!

We were SOOOOO happy to see Do-Da and Grandpa this weekend!!! Love it when they visit. Niko was happy to see them and make them watch hours of Toy Story....

Locks of Love

Well, we did it. On Friday night Alyssa and I cut our hair off for Locks of Love. She had 10" and I had 14".

I haven't had hair this short in over 20 years, but it went to a good cause.
