Super Bowl

Looks like Niko is cheering for the Steelers for the Super Bowl.  Tracy and Gooch had a little influence on his decision. 

Happy Chinese New Year!

This weekend we went to a Chinese New Year party hosted by Shelly's mom.  We had lots of fun and ate way too much.  The first picture is Niko with Shelly's mom.  Niko met his first dog, Noodles at the party.  They were very curious about each other.  The second photo is Niko giving Noodles a bit of love.

Niko is really starting to laugh and play - it's so adorable.  This is the last photo I took of Niko with my camera before it was stolen.  Our house was broken into..... again.  We will be moving as soon as possible.

Playmat

We visited Aunt Alyssa this weekend and she gave Niko this neat playmat. It's inflatable and you fill the center with water. The bugs in the pond move as you push around on the mat. Niko is fascinated by the bugs in the pond.

I want to eat..... everything

Niko definitely knows what food is - and he wants it. He stares at you while you eat and if you get your plate too close, he will take a swipe at it!

Getting Con-ready

Con... Con... Con... It's been on our minds recently. How are we going to go to the Chicago Comic-Con with Niko. Answer - baby backpack! Here is Niko going for his first ride in his new baby backpack.

I can't wait for the weather to get nicer so we can see what it's like after a few hours. The weight seems alright now.... but he is only getting bigger!

First trip to KCPT

I had to take Niko to the KCPT studio with me this morning to put the final touches on a set for the mayor's show, Straight Talk with the Mayor. He was in a bad mood from his vaccinations. Here he is on the desk for the show.

4 month checkup

Niko had his 4 month checkup today - it's a bit late due to our trip to Florida. Niko is doing great. He is 26.5" inches long, 16.9 pounds and his head is 17.5" around. Yea.... big head. His head is in the 97th percentile. Looks like he's taking after Uncle Donnie.

Such a cutie-pie!  Niko is wearing the outfit he got for Christmas from his Aunt Katie.

Eye color

From the looks of it, Niko will have dark brown/black eyes like his daddy. His eyes haven't changed color since the day he was born. We figured he would have brown/brown black eyes since we both have brownish eyes. My eyes are a lighter brown and Neil's are brown/black. The only color variation from brown would have come from my side of the family - my mom has green and my brother has hazel eyes.

Florida trip

We just got back from our annual trip to Florida. It was wonderful - good times, great weather and lots of family time.

Niko enjoyed being able to be semi-naked. Even though you have the heat on here in KC it's still too cold to enjoy diaper-only time. In Florida however, it's toasty warm. Here is Niko enjoying some toe-time.

Niko had is first swim while in Florida. My parents have a heated pool - once Niko figured it out, he liked it.

What would a Florida trip be without a Miami Vice outfit?

Niko had a love/hate relationship with the beach. He liked his feet in the ocean, but hated the sun in his eyes.

My dad took Niko on his first boat ride.... he slept through most of it.
