Let's compare!  Baby #2 is on top and Niko's scan (same week) is on bottom.  It will be interesting to see if they look alike in person!

Biking indoors

Niko had bike day at school today so he really wanted to ride his bike as soon as we got home.  I don't get home until 6 p.m. or so and I still have dinner to cook.  Neil is working nights this week, so what's a mom to do?  

Combine my efforts!!!  I moved around the furniture in the kitchen so he could ride his bike while I cooked!  Sweet

Big Foot

I have played the "let me see how big your foot is" game with Niko since he was born.  To my surprise, his foot is now bigger than most of my fingers!  Not that that's hard.... I have Morris-sized hands.

Baby #2 update:  I passed my glucose test!  Yay!  I had to take the 4-hour version when I was pregnant with Niko.  Not fun.  BUT, turns out I am pretty anemic and I'm on iron supplements three times a day.  Ugh...  guess I am going to have to double-down on Metamucil for the remainder of this pregnancy!

Art Dedication/Playground

Niko and I attended the "Connections" Public Art Dedication in Blue Springs last night.  If only every event I had to bring Niko to had a playground adjacent to it.  :)

Zoo Trip

(Warning!  Cell phone picts ahead!)  Do you know how hard it is to take a photo of three people by yourself on a kiddie train?

He loved these guys because, "They are looking at me!"

 This bird was literally inches from us!

This was one of Niko's favorite parts of the day, the sea lions.   Poor Daddy, he had to hold Niko up for a long, long time so he could see over the rail.

BUT.... these were his favorite animals.  The fiberglass ones on the carousel.  :)  Geaux Tigers.

Garden Update

We check the tomatoes every day.  EVERY DAY.  They are still green and small, much to Niko's dismay.  Maybe tomorrow.... (probably not.)

New Bike!

Niko has a new bike!  His old trike lost a pedal this weekend so he got an upgrade.  Honestly, he probably needed to upgrade a while ago, but we just hadn't gotten around to it.  He's still a bit weirded out about how much faster he can go on the bike, but we are working through that.  

I think he's most excited about the pouch in the front that he can load with rocks, twigs and 'flowers' (weeds) he collects on our rides.  He's got quite the rock collection right now.... sigh.

Municpal Challenge Picnic

Niko and I attended the Eastern Jackson County Municipal Challenge kick-off picnic on Friday.  This event is kinda like Corporate Challenge, but for municipal governments.  Last year, I medaled in several events, but considering I'm 6 months going on 7 months pregnant right now (and an old lady) Neil didn't think that was such a good idea this time around.  I'll have to earn even more medals next year to make up for it.

Niko did the 1-mile walk with me until we got close to the kids section that has games and prizes.  We spent quite a bit of time in this area.

 

 He's really just a tiny bit too small to really get those balls down the track.  But that didn't stop him from getting balls into the basket.  He figured out that he can make the baskets by walking up to the baskets and dropping them in.  Doh.

This was by far his favorite prize.  We are still playing with it today!
