Toy box fun

We definitely have a monkey. Niko is a climber - it's something we have to deal with in the new house. We plan to tether all the book cases and dressers to the wall.

I love the fridge

Not exactly the most Energy Star play toy on the planet. Niko loves playing with the condiments in the fridge.... of course the fridge is wide open when he plays in it.

He loves it though.... and it lets me cook for a while without worrying that he's trying to squeeze himself past the gate.

Playing in the leaves

Most of the leaves on our trees are down and the leaf and brush pickup isn't until after we move sooo.... we re just leaving them on the ground.

Niko is glad that we are - he LOVES playing in them!

Zebra

I bought this zebra bouncy toy a long time ago. I brought it out last month for him to play with and he just wasn't tall enough for it yet.

He saw it in the garage yesterday and I thought we would give it another shot. He can get on and off it himself and knows how to bounce on it! Amazing what a difference a month can make!

New best friend

This is Niko's new best friend. It plays "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" when you press his belly. We actually got this toy at my baby shower and it's been in his room since he was born.

He pulled it off the bookshelf about a week ago and they have been inseparable since. He figured out how to play the music by himself on Thursday and it's all we have been listening to all weekend.

I love olives

Grandpa Morris... this is your grandson!

He LOVES olives - if he sees them, it's all he wants for dinner.  I had some on my salad last night and didn't even think about it until it was too late.

Niko goes through a can a week... or more....

Happy anniversary!

Today is our 3-year wedding anniversary.  Wow... a lot has changed!  It's hard to remember what life was like before Niko-chan.  Not quite as exciting, that's for sure.

Balloons

These balloons have been on the ceiling since Niko's birthday.  They move around and Niko likes pointing to them.  One of the bad things about vaulted ceilings is that things get trapped up there... like most of my living room's heat in the winter.

I wonder if they will come down before we move...

Winter coat

It's hard to find cute/cool boy stuff.  Really, it is.  Finding cute girl stuff is SOOOO easy, but boy stuff is rather boring - it's all either blue or blue with red stripes.

I looked forever for a cool-looking boy coat.  I found this coat at Children's Place.  I love that it's different from the normal blue/red coats I saw everywhere.  I wish the trim/lining was in lime green, but blue will do.

Niko was not a happy model when I put this on him last night....  oh well.

Great Grandma O's birthday party

These photos were from Sunday.  We went over to Grandma O's house to celebrate Great Grandma O's 96th birthday!

The top photo is Niko sitting with Aunt Shelly and pointing at the cake.  (Yes.. he KNOWS what cakes are now!)

Thanks again to Grandma O for inviting us out and making your fantastic curry that Niko and I love.  Mmmmm.......

Inspection time!

It's looking pretty good for the potential house... we have signed the contract and the inspections are today!  Coincidently - inspections are being done on the house we are selling are today too!

Here are a few more photos of the potential house.  Here is the 70's finished basement.  It's a bit dated, but a nice finish job.  We plan to have a swingin' party down here if all goes right!

Park time with daddy

We have been going to the park every day for the past couple of weeks.  (Mommy is trying to lose the Niko weight before we start trying again in the spring/early summer.)

So we walk around the park with Aunt Shelly and Sienna then play on the slide.  The whole trip is a 3-mile walk when it is all done.

Daddy can join us this week since he is on mandatory furlough.   Niko loves going down the tube slide - he went down all by himself yesterday and laughed the whole time.

We will be sad when the weather gets too cold to go to the park anymore!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Niko to the Weston Red Barn Farm's pumpkin patch on Sunday.  Aunt Shelly, Godfather Mark, Eric and our friends the Dents came along with us.

It's free to go to the farm and you pay for what you would like to do.  We took a hay ride, a horse ride and picked pumpkins in the patch.   Niko had a good time and liked playing in the patch... when he wasn't trying to eat the dirt.  Gross.

Back and forth

We are still going back and forth with the seller on our potential house.  I thought I would post a few more photos of it.  The last photo is one of the rooms that I just love - it's the eat-in kitchen/solarium.  (The photos are off the listing page and not the best.)
