Niko does this funny dance when I feed him Puffs. I say "Puff Dance!" and he starts bouncing up and down for Puffs. Then I dance at him some more and he dances back.

New chair
We bought Niko a new meal-time chair. He hated his high chair (sorry Aunt Katie!) - he would arch his back and try to climb out of it. We were worried he would tip the chair over or figure out how to get out in his old chair.
We have had this new one for a couple of days now and he seems to like it. I think he likes sitting at the same table as everyone else. :)
Also - check out that sippy cup. We are in the process of transferring from a bottle to a sippy cup! :)

Sleepy bear
We must be growing because we have been a sleepy bear recently. He has been taking lots of naps during the day and going to bed early. He's STILL getting up at night though... *sigh*
You can't tell from the photo, but we lowered the mattress all the way down last weekend. It's like putting him to sleep in a cave now!

Yard work weekend
Before
After - I put in new landscaping timbers, mulch, rocks and grass seeds.
Before
After - this is where the hot tub was. When it was removed, there was just a dirt pad under the hot tub so we filled it in with rock and put a fire pit in the hole! You can see where I put the landscape timber and mulch around the patio and reseeded the lawn from where the dead tree was.
I don't have a before for this photo - I should have taken one though. This area was a disaster. This is where all the landscape timbers were in a pile under the overgrown bush. We had the bush trimmed back so it doesn't look like it's eating the house anymore. No grass will grow under this bush so I framed out an area and filled it with mulch. I also put down some large brick pavers so there is now a path to get to the hose. I also repainted the concrete slab so it looks nice and clean back there.

Hopefully all this work will pay off and we will have a buyer soon!

Cage
We broke down and bought a cage for Niko. It's almost impossible to get a gate to block off all the places we need to now that Niko is cruising. (Cruising is walking along furniture.) Hence the need for a new house!
He's only in it when we have to do something else (like cooking or going to the bathroom).

Omaha trip
We found this funny.
The meeting of the minds.... Here is Issak and Niko's first meeting. They got along pretty well! Issak is about 4 months older than Niko, but as you can see... Niko weighs more.
Then it happened. Sooooo gross. I learned my lesson - no more prunes before road trips. We were nodding off for a road trip nap when all hell broke loose. Shelly notices something on Niko's face - she thought it was spit-up. Then she saw the source of the stain.

Mass panic as Neil tried to find some where to pull over. Then the clean-up began. Thank goodness I had packed towels and a water bottle. Nasty.
