Weekend Fun

Niko & Ryker love playing with Godfather Mark.  Here they are jumping on him together.

Then Godfather Mark used Ryker to beat Niko up.

Mark beats up Niko with a panda.

Yea... terrifying.  Niko loves it when Mark throws him in the air.

Lena introduced Ryker to new friends in the Philippines.

Baby chatting!

No Cavities!

We went to the dentist on Wednesday.  Niko has a wiggly tooth and he thought they would just pull it out for him.   Not so much....

No cavities!!!   :)  They said he was doing a good job brushing his teeth - Yay!

Toddler Times Report

I had to share this Toddler Times Report Card.  Apparently Ryker was getting a bit upset that he could not EAT the bubbles during Bubble Day.  I guess he ran around trying to catch/eat them with his mouth.

And of course, he ate all of his lunch!

Godparents

Over the last two days, the Godparents came to visit.  Here is a photo that Godfather Mark snapped off of Niko eating red bell peppers.  (His favorite veggie.)

Godmother Shelly took this one of Niko in the tunnel.

Mark took this one of Ryker.  Look at him... he's pleading for more food.

YAY!  We are at the park - but a different park this time!

Yea....   this is terrifying.

Again.... terrifying.

Look, they are both swinging together!

Here Comes Trouble

Ryker-kun's school sent this to me.... look at that serious look!!!!   He looks like a wrestler or superhero!

Public Art Dedication

Last night, the boys and I attended the Blue Springs 2014 Temporary Public Art Exhibit Dedication.  Daddy had to work so I took the boys with me to the ceremony.  Terrifying.  Yea... a quiet, fancy event and two rambunctious boys?  'Fun.'

Niko did well, thanks to my friend Cindy's phone.  Ahhhh... what did we ever do before smartphones?   Big thanks to Cindy for all of her help!

I had my phone too, but only one boy at a time could play with it.  Ryker is pretty good at texting....

And running around, playing with the water fountain, clapping at the wrong time and screaming YAYYYAYAY!!!!    Whew.  Pretty glad this is a once-a-year thing!

Yard Update

We have almost finished the front brick walkway.  We still have a few more places to tuck-point and we need to seal the path, but we are getting closer.  Then we can repair and repaint the window frames, shutters and doors.  After all of that, we can order the front retaining bricks, dirt and plants.

The backyard is really looking good.  We have been working on the grass for the past few years and it is finally a beautiful yard.  I love our mature trees and fairly shaded backyard.  It is a really nice place to entertain due to the beautiful canopy of trees.

Citizens Fire Academy

Fear not, no fire fighter is in danger of loosing their job to this 'civilian' (as they affectionately call me.)   I am attending the CJCFPD Citizens Fire Academy this summer.  Last year, I graduated from the Citizens Police Academy.  I am so fortunate to work with police and fire professionals every day and I love learning more about how they serve our community.

This is the inaugural CJCFPD Citizens Fire Academy class.   So far, this class has been so much fun and we are learning what it takes to be a fire fighter.

Climber

Unfortunately, someone is quite a climber.  He can climb in and out of this chair all by himself.

Garden update

This is my garden annex - note the sand pails.  I ran out of pots and the kids never really use the pails anyway.  These are the extra tomato plants and the plants that the bunnies & squirrels like to eat/tear up.  I have had better success growing these on the deck rather than the garden area.  I ran out of room in the garden and this is a good solution to both problems.  We kinda went crazy with the seedlings (Niko did a good job planting/caring for them) and I wanted him to see his hard work come to fruition.

Look how big those tomato plants are!

I bought some new tomato supports that are color coated to what type of plants they are.  The purple hoops are Cherokee Purple, the red hoops are cherry tomato, the steel one is a grape tomato and the yellow are Red Beefsteak.
