Box Bed

Niko and I went to Monica's house on Saturday night.  She had an oversized box that the kids loved playing/"sleeping" in.  Go figure, a house full of toys and they want to play in a box.

Mr. Pita

Anyone who knows Niko-chan knows he loves Toy Story.  We had burritos for dinner tonight, but Niko was most excited to see the tortillas.  I had my back to him when he snuck one off the counter... I turned around and found him making Mr. Pita from Toy Story 3.

Perfect Square

I have had to switch out several of Niko's pants recently since it looks like he's prepping for a flood.  So we decided to take his height this evening; he's now 39.5" tall.

That makes him a perfect square if you take in his current weight - 39.5 pounds.  Kinda cool...

A boy!

Neil and I had our sono today and we are having another boy! Looks like we can only have boys due the first week of September.... Neil was hoping for a girl - I am just so glad to finally be pregnant.

The good news is that everything looks good so far.

The bummer is that I will be the only girl in a house full of boys, but we don't have much to buy this time around! Plenty of nerd times ahead!

Skateboarding Niko-chan

Do-Da and Grandpa show Niko how to skateboard... well... sort of.

Try number two.

He actually looks like a little skater boy here!

Here he figured it out!

He finished off his jam session by picking flowers for the girls. Do-Da got the biggest bouquet... hummm....

Playing with the family

Jenny on the Rip-Stick. She's amazing on it.... considering it looks like a death trap on wheels. Ryan was showing off his bike riding on his new bike.

Grandpa and Ryan were the boys team.

Jenny and I were on the girls team. The game didn't last long... I got a red card for roughhousing.

Then it was street hockey time... that is until the ball went down the drain. Doh.

We finished out our outdoor Olympics with a game of b-ball.

Easter in Tennessee

Niko and I spent Easter in Tennessee with my sister's family and my parents. Neil had to work so Niko and I took the trip by ourselves. My sister hosted an Easter egg hunt for Ryan and Niko on Saturday.

Jenny, Ryan and Niko had a blast playing together... when they weren't bickering over certain toys. Oh well. I chalk it up to them not being able to play together more often.

Niko Therapy

The weirdest thing has happened in the last day or so. Last night, Niko picked up Tangent's collar off the counter last night and asked what happened. I told him that Tangent had to go bye-bye. (Which was really hard to say.)

Then Niko "turned" into a cat and laid down on the Elmo chair like she used to and meowed at me. It was strangely comforting to me.
Niko has been playing a cat for the past two nights now. (And yes... it is funny to see him run around with those horns on... very telling....)

RIP Tangent

I took this photo right before I took Tangent to the vet for the last time. This was her home away from my bed. Neil bought this chair at a garage sale for Niko, but it quickly turned into Tangent's favorite nap spot.

As you can see, Tangent had lost quite a bit of weight. I didn't event think it was possible for a cat to get that small and still live, but she did. She weighed under 2.5 pounds when I brought her to the vet for the last time. She was starving to death and was only holding on by a small thread.

She had a great 18 years of life, 17 of them spent with me. I lost a great companion today, but I valued every day that was given to me.... even in the end. I will miss her so much.
